Yes, permits are required. ModCubes can handle all permitting and site preparation for you, or your contractor can manage it. Our HCD-certified units streamline the permitting process significantly since they’re pre-inspected at the factory.
We partner with RenoFi for ADU and home financing. It works like a mortgage — homeowners can leverage their home equity to finance the build. For commercial projects, we have additional lending partners available.

HCD (Housing and Community Development) certification means our units are factory-inspected and built to California building code before leaving our facility.
